After much speculation, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has formally announced that he will be contesting the Umno presidency in the coming party polls.
He will be going up against acting president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and businessperson-blogger Rahmat Azim Abdul Aziz.
During a press conference to announce his election bid today, Razaleigh said he came to the decision to contest after much deliberation and was confident in being able to lift the party out from beneath the weight of its thumping 14th general election (GE14) defeat.
