In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, The Weeknd reveals that he likes having a sense of mystery about him but that there may come a time when he will drop his stage name.
Anything is possible and there’s a chance that soon the Weeknd may be no longer.
His name that is. The Weeknd is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar for their September issue alongside supermodels, Adriana Lima and Irina Shayk looking quite dapper dressed in all black. Harper’s September spread is definitely the cover to be on seeing as though it is their Icons issue. The spread also features Miranda Lambert, Travis Scott, Candice Swanepoel, and Karlie Kloss, but what I want to talk about is the Weeknd’s explanation for wanting to keep a certain mystique about him. He told the magazine QUOTE - "I'm not in a rush to let people know everything about me. Mystery is always great. Luckily, the only thing the world demands of me is music. I don't have to give them anything else for the rest of my life."
And while The Weeknd is not going anywhere anytime soon, he did entertain the possibility of one day dropping his stage name saying QUOTE - "Kind of like pulling a Ziggy Stardust. Maybe I'll retire from being The Weeknd; maybe I'll just give him a break." The Weeknd’s real name is Abel Tesfaye which is just as great as The Weeknd in my opinion so why not? Wouldn’t be the first time someone reinvented themselves. Snoop Dog was Snoop Lion for a hot second so the possibilities are endless. Tell me what you think about The Weeknd possibly dropping his stage name in the comment section below, of course don’t forget to subscribe and then click right over here for all the details that Selena Gomez recently revealed about her relationship with Abel.
