Troye Sivan DEBUTS High School Musical-Inspired "Dance To This" Video ft. Ariana Grande

The music video for Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande recent collaboration, “Dance To This,” just dropped!
And apparently it drew some inspo from High School Musical!
The video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, features Troye at a mic about to perform for a community center. Eventually Ari comes in with her signature pony and they both take over the room eventually getting everyone else to leave so they can dance and sing together.
Right before the video dropped Troye tweeted QUOTE, “The DTT vid was inspired literally by High School Musical and Grease and Pass This On by the Knife and a gif of Cher spinning around that i cant find rn”
We mostly see the similarities between this video and the iconic “Start of Something New”. Both Troy AND Troye start the song off strong in a room full of people who seem disinterested, and then Gabriella and Ariana come in a lil later. And by chorus two both pairs are super into it!
But hey another similarity is in Stick to the Status Quo because Troye and Ari dance on tables at the end of Dance to This, and the entire cast of HSM dances on tables in that song, so we see it.
And I hate to say it again, but…. Troy Bolton, Troye Sivan…. idk idk it’s probably nothing.
One user tweeted a comparison of Ari and Troye singing next to a photo of Gabriella and Troy singing in the first HSM and said QUOTE, “High school musical has officially been cancelled by @ArianaGrande @troyesivan #DANCETHOTHIS”
Dance to This is the third single off Troye’s upcoming album “Bloom” which comes out August 31st and I am so hype to hear the other 7 tracks y’all don’t even understand.
