Troye Sivan releases his powerfully impactful music video for his new single “Heaven”, so if you’re looking to shed a little light on what may be a dark day for many, look no further.
Little did we know, Troye Sivan would be the real-life angel sent from Heaven that we all needed today…
In a stunning and powerful montage of black and white flashback videos, Troye Sivan released his new music video for his single “Heaven”, featuring Betty Who, just yesterday, off of his debut album Blue Neighbourhood. Always having been an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Troye has truly outdone himself this time, making this one video that is sure to go down in history.
The visuals placed throughout the video include monumental moments that have greatly impacted the LGBTQ community, such as icon Harvey Milk and footage of protests for same-sex marriage, intertwined with shots of Troye proudly embracing a bare-chested man. Troye has recently stated that this song is the “most important song” he’s ever made as it sheds light on the recent backlash and hardships occurring within the gay communities over the past year.
And on that note, many believe that the ironic timing of the video’s release just yesterday is of great significance considering just this morning, now-President Donald Trump was sworn into office as the 45th president of the United States, along with Vice President Mike Pence, who recently signed a “religious freedom law” allowing businesses to deny service of LGBTQ patrons, among many other things.
