Parti Bangsa Malaysia president designate Zuraida Kamaruddin has explained what led to the formation of PBM and why there was a delay in announcing her as the president of the party.

In an interview with Malaysiakini, Zuraida said she met Ismail Sabri Yaakob and told him of her intentions to form PBM.

She added that Ismail Sabri had asked her to delay announcing it and let Larry Sng assume the position of president for the party,

She said this was as he was being pressured by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to drop her as a minister.
