伊党主席哈迪阿旺认为，虽然穆斯林占据大马65%的人口，但伊斯兰政治势力薄弱，只因为前首相马哈迪在位时打压伊党。哈迪因此呜呼巫统和伊党，联手重振伊教政治势力。哈迪于上周五的伊党活动上，如是表示。
