Just days after comforting victims and their families at the vigil for the Grenfell Tower fire, Adele has made her way to the fire station to give credit to the brave souls who risked their lives.
This Episode is Brought to you by Transformers: The Last Knight. Check it out in theaters Wednesday, June 21st. Tickets now on sale.
Here’s a helpful hint for you: When Adele hands you cake, ALWAYS make time to eat the cake with Adele.
It was as if a real-life angel graced the Chelsea fire station yesterday when what the firemen, who fought last week’s Grenfell Building blaze, thought to be a local stranger appearing at their door to deliver some cakes, turned out to be none other than Adele herself.
The London Fire Brigade tweeted photos of the singer sharing tea and cake with the men who saved hundreds of lives last week, and although the initial point of the visit was emotional to say the least, it seemed as though Adele kept her sense of humor as photos show them laughing amongst each other.
Adele’s appearance was documented by fireman Rob Petty, who wrote on Facebook QUOTE, “Lovely girl, genuinely grounded, interested and humbled. Beautiful.” Station manager Ben King opened up about her visit, saying, “She just turned up at the station and knocked on the window and said she has some cakes for us. So we opened the door to her and then she took her sunglasses off and said: 'Hi, I'm Adele'. Everyone was so shocked.”
He added that she came in and had a cup of tea, thanked them for their duties, and joined them for a minute of silence. But many other high-profile figures have also offered help and support to the victims, including chef Jamie Oliver, singer Lily Allen and actor Tom Hardy, who started a crowdfunding page to raise money for the victims and their families.
Many other generous people have dedicated their time and money in support of the fire crews who risked their lives through The Fire Fighters Charity. Clearly there are many ways to show support following the tragic events that occurred, and we continue to keep the victims and their families in our thoughts, but right now I want to know all your thoughts on Adele’s sweet act of kindness at the station yesterday, and during the vigil last week, so share all your thoughts right down here in the comments, and be sure to hit that subscribe button for more updates.
