Selena Gomez just dropped the music video for ‘Back to You’ so naturally we just had to find all hidden messages about Justin Bieber in it.
Because Jelena, am I right?
After days of teasing us with little gifs and stills from the highly anticipated music video, Selena finally dropped the visual for her latest song, ‘Back to You,’ and it’s got major Jelena vibes.
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking: ‘but Selena never confirmed that the song is about Justin.’ Well, even if she hasn’t said a single word about it and you aren’t convinced that the track is about her ex and constantly going back to him, maybe the music video will change your mind.
First off, let’s talk about Selena’s co-star in the visual. He’s like, a dead on ringer for Justin Bieber.

Okay, maybe not a dead-on ringer for the Biebs, but you gotta admit there were some shots where he totally looked like Sel’s on-again-off-again ex.
And of course, we have to talk about the very prominent and visual nod to Selena and Justin’s on and off relationship. In the video, after Selena and her co-star leave the party they’re at and steal a car for fun. But all the fun and excitement eventually led to the two fighting with each other until Selena ultimately decides to go back to the same party that they left earlier in the video.

Once these two return to the party and everything is seemingly back to normal, Selena then realizes after seeing her former crush at the party AGAIN that she’s still in love with him anddd then the story restarts with the same dialogue and what we can only assume to be the same outcome.

Kinda like Selena and Justin’s whirlwind of a relationship, right? You know, because of the whole on and off thing.
Anyway, aside from subtly mirroring her relationship with Justin, can we just take a moment to talk about the guy in the pineapple button up next to Selena in the music video?

Now, I don’t know about you, but he’s definitely giving us major Weeknd vibes with his unique hairdo and full on beard. We seriously can’t help but think this was also a subtle nod at her last relationship before Sel went back to Justin.
