What legal woes? Ariana Grande is getting ready to release her upcoming music video with Nicki Minaj and she’s not letting anything get in her way – not the VMAs and definitely not a little lawsuit.
Arianators are in for a real treat on Sunday evening. Not only will they get to see some of their favorite stars at the VMAs, they’ll also be able to finally see Ariana’s ‘Side to Side’ video in full that very same night.
The singer revealed the exciting information on Twitter late Tuesday night with a couple of up close and personal gifs to get everyone hyped up for the visual. Ariana didn’t exactly give super specific details on the time her video is premiering, but we do know that the video is set to drop Sunday night on shop-dot-guess-dot-com.
While all of her fans are anticipating the release of ‘Side to Side,’ one person is waiting for the singer to respond to his lawsuit. Songwriter Alex Greggs filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Ariana for her hit song, ‘One Last Time,’ – two years after it came out.
According to TMZ, the songwriter claims that Ari and David Guetta – who produced the song – stole the chorus and a few other things from his song, ‘Takes All Night,’ that he wrote for Skye Stevens. Let’s compare the two, shall we? Here’s the chorus of ‘One Last Time…’
Alex is suing for a chunk of the profits Ari received for ‘One Last Time.’ Well, if the singer is looking for someone to talk to about her copyright troubles, I’m sure she could hit up Demi Lovato for a little venting sesh.
So, two things: one, how excited are you for Ariana’s new music video and two, did you think ‘One Last Time’ sounded like ‘Takes All Night?’ Let me know all of your thoughts in the comment section below!
