Demi Lovato has been sued by indie rock-duo, Sleigh Bells, and we've got the details for you right now.
Demi may be facing serious charges, now that a lawsuit has officially been filed alleging that her song, Stars, is a total rip off.
We all remember when indie rock-duo, Sleigh Bells, publicly called out Demi Lovato on Twitter after hearing her song, Stars, and accused her of ripping off their songs, ‘Infinity Guitars’ and ‘Riot Rhythm.’ The band tweeted directly at Demi saying QUOTE "Flattered you guys sampled ‘Infinity Guitars' and ‘Riot Rhythm' for ‘Stars' but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those."
While Lovatics flipped out seeing the tweet, not much came from the accusation, until now. E! News released the official lawsuit that the band has just filed against Demi, in which they claim that Demi’s ‘Stars’ and their hit ‘Infinity Guitars’ are QUOTE “virtually identical content” and that the songs also QUOTE “transcend the realm of coincidence.”
Decide for yourself. First listen to Demi’s ‘Stars’
And now, Sleigh Bells’ ‘Infinity Guitars”
You guys, I really don’t know about this one. I’m not convinced.
The lawsuit also mentions Stars’ producers Carl Frank and Rami Yacoub and UMG Recordings. After word first spread last year, Yacoub sat down with Rolling Stone to address the allegations saying QUOTE “We did not use any samples in Demi Lovato’s song ‘Stars’. Demi was also not involved with the production. She only wrote top line.”
Well, the suit is still pretty fresh, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out in court. Until then, I want to hear from all of you.
