Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has clarified that International Trade and Industry Minister Azmin Ali was not his preferred prime ministerial candidate.

He said he did not have a prime minister candidate in mind and those who wanted to become prime minister would have to fight their own struggle.

Mahathir said this following media reports that he had chosen Azmin and his son Mukhriz as those who could become prime minister in a programme with Harith Iskander on Wednesday night.
