Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad announced on Tuesday that the legal age of 21 and above to purchase alcoholic beverages has taken effect, following amendments to the Food Regulations Act 1985. The new rule was gazetted on May 27, 2016, but is only being enforced beginning today.
