Beyonce Facetimes Teen Battling Cancer, After Classmates Launch Social Media Campaign

We’ve heard Beyoncé relay the message many times before, but yesterday was all the proof we needed that if you want her, you can catch her on your video phone.
Ebony Banks received the Facetime of a lifetime yesterday when the last person she ever thought would personally call her, did just that. The high school senior has spent most of her senior year bed ridden in the hospital while battling a rare form of stage four cancer, and with the help of social media and her peers at Alief Hastings High School, Ebony’s dream of one day meeting Beyoncé finally came true:
In the heartwarming video, you can hear a tearful Ebony saying, “I love you” to Beyoncé, to which Bey relayed the message back, saying, “I love you!” Students attending the high school in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, Texas, helped make Ebony’s biggest dream a reality as they started a social media campaign to get Bey’s attention.
One student revealed QUOTE, “Beyoncé is one of her idols. She admires her so much, so we're trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyoncé's attention.” Ebony’s class then got to work and began flooding the internet with her nickname ‘Ebob’ used in the #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE that received thousands of likes and retweets.
Another student said, “We just decided she should, you know, meet Beyoncé. We started this hashtag to see how far we could get.” Who knew it’d be that easy to start a simple trending hashtag and then BAM – next thing you know, you’re on the phone with the queen herself! But the students were just as shocked as we all are, as Ebony’s fellow senior, Shayne McNight told Houston’s local news, “It was like, wow, it really happened. We actually got her attention.”
