BTS wins their first Teen Choice Award, but why are fans still upset??!
It’s no secret that BTS have some of the most loyal fans in the pop music world, and right now those fans are defending the guys over their TCA win.
BTS fans are outraged that presenter Bella Thorne rushed the announcement for BTS winning the "Choice International Artist Award", which didn’t give fans a chance to truly celebrate the K-Pop group’s big win.
Many fans tweeted about what felt like a huge accomplishment being brushed over at the awards show. While some complained that they could have at least shown a picture of the group or a snippet of one of their videos when their name was announced, others theorized that the TCA audience just isn’t familiar enough with the K-Pop genre for the show to have understood just how huge BTS’s International fanbase really is.
One fan tweeted QUOTE, “Yeah i wait the whole time just to see that they didn't announced bts properly so disappointed”, while another suggested QUOTE, “I think since bts was wasn't there, there were no kpop fans. But either way they should've done a better job during the announcement”.
Hundreds of other loyal BTS fans took to twitter to share their disappointment, and the consensus was the same: Whether the guys were too busy to make a thank you video for the awards show like other absentee winners or not, the TCAs rushed over their win in a disheartening way that upset an ARMY of fans.
