BTS Misses South Korean Award Show Amid Group Break!

The BTS guys didn’t show up to accept their awards at the M2 x Genie Music Awards, and it’s because the group is apparently on a break. And before you freak out, it’s just temporary.
What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and M2 x Genie Music Awards was a huge night for BTS as they took home multiple awards at the big award show.
Even though it was pretty expected that they would win, because duh they are the best, none of the BTS boys were there to accept any of their awards.
Don’t fret there’s no drama going down in the BTS group!
The guys did send an adorable video as their acceptance speech for the Global Popularity Award.
While the video is cute, it’s not the same thing as seeing them up on stage together, amiright?
But they have a pretty good reason why they weren’t there in person -- the boys are currently on a break to recuperate after their extremely taxing world tour and get ready for what's next.
Like I said, don’t freak out… It’s only a temporary break! The guys are taking some time off from their massive world tour!
The much needed time off has been planned for a while now and it totally makes sense for them to rest, be with their families, and go on a vacation or two or three before heading back on tour.
The break is set to be about two months long, although they will still be performing at the Lotte Duty Free Family Concert in mid-August.
Their next big concert date isn’t until October, when they pick up their iconic Speak Yourself: Love Yourself tour in Saudi Arabia.
So does this mean they won’t be making an appearance at the MTV VMA’s on August 26th?
Honestly, maybe not, we will be covering the VMAS so stay tuned and we will keep you posted!
They are currently nominated for 4 awards, and will definitely take home at least one, if not more, that night.
So maybe we’ll be getting another acceptance video like they did at the M2 x Genie Music Awards.
And as much as I’d love to see them at the VMA’s, I totally respect their time off.
Tour was taking a toll on their bodies.
We all remember seeing poor Suga’s shoulder pain and we know that V has been dealing with itchy hives from his cholinergic urticaria.
So I think some much needed R&R is very well deserved.
We’re just glad it’s only two months!
