Cardi B has been receiving love left and right from her musical peers and while she’s been SO thankful for all the positive reactions, something tells me the latest piece of praise she received from THE Lady Gaga probably took her level of happiness to another level.
It all started when a throwback video of Cardi performing Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ at her high school talent show during her senior year made the rounds on social media.
As you all know, when something about a celebrity goes viral, chances are, they’ll notice it and guess what – Gaga totally saw the incredible video and just HAD to respond. She quoted the footage on Twitter and wrote ‘I LIVE’ in all caps with a bunch of emojis.
Shortly after responding to Cardi’s ultimate throwback performance, Gaga tweeted a lyric from Cardi’s song ‘Get Up 10’ and wrote, ‘Fall down nine times but I get up ten! @iamcardib SPEAK WOMAN.’
Honestly, I can’t imagine how Cardi feels now knowing that one of her biggest idols stans her right back. Cardi has been a little monster for a very long time now – way before she started making a name for herself in the music industry.
Aside from this gem of a video, there’s also a clip of Cardi and her sister Hennessey dancing to Gaga’s ‘Applause’ complete with choreography from the video!
Honestly, if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.
Anyway, now that Lady Gaga has publicly expressed her love for Cardi, I think it’s time for these two to hook up musically and give us a FIRE collab in the near future. I mean, Cardi did say on the red carpet last year at the MTV VMAs QUOTE, “If I could ever collaborate with somebody I would love collaborating with one of my idols. Definitely gotta be Lady Gaga. I wanna let you know that I love you, bitch!” Well Cardi, it looks like the feeling is mutual and now that Gaga has taken notice, we’re all one step closer to getting a Cardi x Gaga collab.
