In a very close race, Donald Trump won the presidential election and Hollywood is feeling some type of way about it.
Hollywood has been pretty vocal about both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton throughout this election process, and last night was no different.
After the news broke, a TON of celebrities took to Twitter – naturally -- to express their opinions on the outcome of the election. It’s safe to say that a good majority of them are upset that Trump defeated Hillary.
Everyone from Anna Kendrick to Kerry Washington to Katy Perry reacted to the news by reminding those who are upset at the results to remember that Love Trumps Hate. Katy told her followers to QUOTE, ‘RISE UP. WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED. Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us,’ Kerry reminded people that as bad ass as Olivia Pope is, Olivia Pope is QUOTE, ‘Not real. Whats real is the need for love today. LOVE yourself. Take CARE of you and your loved ones.’
Ariana Grande tweeted her disbelief and said QUOTE, ‘I am in tears.’ Anna went the same route as Ari and tweeted, ‘Woke up feeling like I’d had a nightmare. Then started crying again. Mantra: I am not alone, we are not alone.” As these two tweeted about their tears, Miley showed hers in a video on Twitter. The singer admitted she was really upset that Hillary lost, but at the end of the day, she is still willing to accept Donald as the new president of the US, because well, Miley is an accepting person – even to those who don’t seem to accept her.
Gabrielle Union joined her peers and revealed that while she is scared of what’s to come, that isn’t going to stop her from fighting for change. She wrote QUOTE, “I am scared. I will fight. Trump will not crush my spirit. Hope fuels the fire in my belly to seek the change I want to see in this country.” Well said, Gabrielle. Well. Said.
While many are upset that Donald was named the President of the United States, a couple other celebrities are reveling in his shocking win. Stephen Baldwin tweeted his excitement by saying QUOTE, “God is moving & America is speaking! Soon the REAL work begins…to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain! Proud to have been a part of such amazing history!!”
Kristie Alley followed in Stephen’s footsteps and congratulated the 45th president of the US by saying “CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT TRUMP! @realDonaldTrump against all odds…against the establishment and even against most from the GOP…U did it!” Scott Baio, who has been a supporter of Trump since the beginning also hopped on the congratulations train and said QUOTE, ‘Great faith in God works. Mr @realdonaldtrump I’m proud to call you President of the United States of America. And First Lady @MelaniaTrump.”
