Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's announcement of a salary hike for civil servants could be one of the factors that led to early voters switching to Pakatan Harapan in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

In the recent episode of the Keluar Sekejap podcast, Khairy said that the argument that it had some affect has basis.

Meanwhile, former Umno Information Chief Shahril Hamdan said that based on the results, PN's momentum seems to have has slowed down.
