Demi Lovato Brings SURPRISE Guest As Date To 2017 AMAs

Demi Lovato brought a very special date to this year’s American Music Awards.
And no, it’s not that super hot soccer player she’s reportedly dating. It was someone WAY better.
Remember Danica Roem? The transgendered woman who became Virginia’s first transgender state legislator after being elected by the people on Election Day? Well, Demi had the honor of taking Danica as her date to the 2017 AMAs and to no one’s surprise, both ladies SLAYED the red carpet in their beautiful all black ensembles.
As incredible as Demi and Danica both looked, they two weren’t just there to make heads turn. According to GLAAD, Demi and Danica’s mission on the carpet was to bring awareness to issues surrounding the LGBTQ community as well as calling all Americans to stand united against the discrimination happening around the country.
On the carpet, Demi couldn’t help but gush about Danica and why she wanted the transgender lawmaker to be in the audience during her performance.
Demi told E! News QUOTE, “We connected because I heard her story. She is actually the first out and seated transgender state legislator in American history and when I heard that I was just completely inspired by it. My story with ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ is about bullying and I wanted to have her in the audience with me tonight because I feel like we have been through some of the same things and now get to share this experience together.”
