She quit Twitter and Instagram once will she do it again?
Demi Lovato has always been very opened with her fans about her personal life sharing her struggles with mental illness and addiction. So when the singer decided to take an ancestry DNA test she wanted to share that with the world also but this time they weren’t so accepting.
Over the weekend she tweeted out the results of her genetic make up saying
“I did a DNA test and found out I'm mainly Spanish, with Native American, SCANDINAVIAN (which I had NO idea), Irish, BRITISH….”
and then followed it up with another tweet saying
“and I’m 1% African!!!”
everyone was intrigued until they saw the follow up tweet and well after that the internet trolls lost all chill!
One fan tweeted out a gif with Tyra basically telling “Demi” to be quiet
and this gif saying
“Thank you for making that announcement that no one cared about.”
one twitter follower even quoted Mean Girls saying
“Demi so if you’re from Africa, why are you white?”
You have to admit that was a good one but Demi didn’t seem to find it funny at all she clapped back by saying
"Just thought it was cool and totally random. Some of ya’ll are mean af. Twitter sucks.” She also reassured the haters that she didn’t mean to offend anyone.
Oh the internet! Always so sensitive! Lets hope that Demi doesn’t take this to heart and peace out on social media again. But I want to hear from you guys what did you think about Demi’s tweet. As person who is 50% African I don’t see what the problem is but dish it out in the comments below and don’t forget to click here to check out the best dressed from the Oscars. I’m your host Jackie Iadonisi thanks for watching i’ll see you soon.
