Demi Lovato announces she will taking a break from her music career in 2017.

Yesterday October 4 Demi Lovato made headlines for her November cover story in Glamour magazine. Demi spoke out once again about Taylor Swift’s flavor of feminism saying QUOTE, “...certain people could be doing more if they’re going to claim that as part of their brand,” and “...a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women empowerment.” Demi also commented on Taylor’s squad of friends, “I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like… it’s not real.”
Swifties lashed out at Demi for so-called “skinny shaming” Taylor. Demi replied to the backlash tweeting QUOTE, “I get asked questions. I answer them. Sue me.” Followed by the explanation QUOTE, “Also don’t forget that words can be taken out of context when doing interviews...still not apologizing for saying what everyone want to say…” And ended with a third tweet telling people they should worry about OTHER things.
A few hours later Demi shocked us with an announcement tweeting, “So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight..I am not meant for this business and the media.” That was followed by a waving hand emoji. Demi answered a fan who asked if she will be coming back saying, “dunno. It doesn’t feel worth it anymore. I’d rather do charity work tbh.”
Women should NOT put other women down, but it also doesn’t seem fair that Demi was triggered to take a break from her CAREER because she was honest in an interview. Demi is one of the most confident and vocal pop stars, so if she can’t handle the media who can? A source told E!
