It’s clearly the dawn of celebrity break-ups because Demi Lovato & Wilmer Valderama have now been added to the depressing list of public splits.
Demi & Wilmer have been together for six years and it seemed like they were going to go the distance, but on Friday it all came to an end.
Demi and Wilmer announced their split via instagram on Friday with a note that Demi had written in the notes of her phone that said QUOTE - “After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
The announcement came only hours after Demi attended her great-grandmother’s funeral, which she memorialized on snapchat. A source told Us Magazine that Demi has been really stressed lately and sided with Wilmer saying QUOTE - “He’s this amazing salt of the Earth, sweet, hardworking guy and she just isn’t the right person for him.” But it’s clear from the break-up post that Demi and Wilmer wouldn’t want us to pick sides because they still have love for each other. But most of us are still scratching our heads as to why they decided to call it quits after 6 years. An exclusive source obtained by HollywoodLife.com claims to have all of the answers, telling the site QUOTE –“ the fact that they didn’t have the urge to get married and have kids really got them talking on if it was worth continuing the relationship. And that is when they realized being best friends was the best option for them.”
Demi & Wilmer now join the ongoing list of recent celebrity break-ups including, Taylor & Calvin and Zayn & Gigi. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s June, whatever happened to summer lovin’? But at least Demi seems to be in good spirits. She was spotted smiling ear to ear at a UFC event on Saturday with her mom and a friend.
