Disneyland Resort REPLACING This Land with New Marvel Super Hero Land

Out with the old, and in with the new! Disneyland’s California Adventure Park is about to get a major facelift, and we’ve got everything you need to know about the big changes.
So we’ve got some good news and some bad news for all you Disneyland lovers out there. First, the bad news -- it was announced this week that the Disneyland resort is officially getting rid of “a bug’s land.”
Can we get a moment of silence please?
OK, and the good news -- it’s being replaced by a brand new Marvel-themed superhero land!
Ok, RIP bug’s land, but that’s prettyyyyyyyyy amazing.
Disneyland Parks Blog announced the news on Tuesday with this fun little video teaser:
Some hardcore Disney fans started speculating about this news a few days ago when there were rumors swirling that the popular “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” attraction was going to close down for good on Monday March 19.
Congrats to those Internet sleuths, because you were totally right!
In a statement, Disney said quote: “At Disneyland Resort, the new Super Hero-themed land will begin recruiting guests in 2020, with even more new experiences to follow. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe, furthering the evolution of Disney California Adventure park. This new land will be anchored by the popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, in the adjacent space that is currently occupied by “a bug’s land.” “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” closed March 19 to make way for this new heroic experience; the rest of the land will close in late summer.
Between this and the new Star Wars land coming in 2019, Disneyland is going to be one busyyyyy place in the next few years.
But that’s not all, they also revealed that Disneyland Paris and Disneyland Hong Kong will also be getting Marvel-fied too.
This all sounds AMAZING. Guess we’ll have to wait until 2020 and just stay tuned to see what they have up their sleeves!
