Ed Sheeran Crashes 2017 BBMAs With "Castle On The Hill" Performance From Chile Concert

Ed Sheeran may be busy living it up on tour overseas, but he managed to stop by the 2017 Billboard Music Awards for a quick performance with a side of some serious nostalgia.

Because really, can you even fathom what an award show would be like without an Ed Sheeran performance? The answer is NO.
Ed FREAKING Sheeran shared a live performance during the 2017 BBMAs tonight to remind us all that his year-long hiatus was absolutely worth the wait and that this is clearly just the beginning. He may be in the middle of touring thousands of miles away, but he didn’t cease to grace Las Vegas with his presence, as fans were shown pre-recorded concert footage of his hit “Castle on the Hill” from Santiago, Chile just last week. Performing as his usual one-man show, Ed sang so flawlessly, it’s almost as if we were watching him live for the first time right in front of our faces. Check it out:
So if a year-long hiatus was what Ed needed in order to come back and give us performances like the one we just witnessed, I think we’re in good hands for what’s to come. But although Ed wasn’t nominated for any Billboard awards this year due to taking time off, his previous eight nominations in past years have clearly proven he’s always welcome back to the Billboard stage no matter what.
He even talked about taking a necessary break in the new issue of People Magazine, saying QUOTE, “I needed to get away. I kind of eased back into life and reality.” He also talked about social media’s affect on him, also playing a part in his disappearance from the Interwebs, saying, “People will write something you’ve said (that you’ve never said) and post it online, and instantly it’s a quote that suddenly gets loads of people riled up. Social media’s very much like 0 to 100, and the next day they don’t remember it. There will be internet fads that last for a day, and it’ll be the biggest f—ing thing for a day, and then it’s not.”
Totally understandable, and we all know that Ed never ceases to amaze us, and if that was just a small glimpse of what’s in store during his Divide tour, I think we’re in good hands! As of right now, he’s currently in the midst of performing the Latin leg of his world tour, and is set to kick off his North American portion of the tour in July until early October, so GET PUMPED YOU GUYS.
