It was a family affair at at tonight’s Billboard Music Awards when Noah and Billy Ray Cyrus introduced Miley to the stage.
You guys, Miley Cyrus is performing again! And wearing pants!
Miley’s official ditched the big teddy bears and foam fingers as she debuted her single, “Malibu” for the first time on television. In fact, the only thing showy about this performance was her vocals.
Milez wore a flowy-white, off the shoulder crop top, white jean shorts and sun hat. Her natural feminine makeup and wavy locks was more beaches of Malibu vibes than Billboard Music Awards stage. But it’s of course fitting for the song about the California beaches. Miley circa 2014 may have called this look and performance boring, but we think it’s beautiful and refreshing to see her getting into with her softer, more vulnerable side.
Miss Miley got emotional towards the end of the performance. Did she get teary because she was thinking about finance Liam Heimsworth, who she’s admitted is the subject of the song? Was she reliving the moments that wrote the song? Or was she happy about being back on stage again? Whatever it is, I think mushy Miley is the best.
There seemed to be a little bit of a country twang during this stripped down performance of “Malibu” compared to the recorded version she released 10 days ago. Could this be a hint she’s she’ll be getting back to her Nashville roots on her next album. I’m sure her dad Billy Ray and godmother Dolly Parton would be happy about this.
I’m digging mature Miley, but now I want to know what you think about Miley’s new image and sound? Sound off in the comments section below and be sure to subscribe. I’m your host Ashley I. Thank you for watching Clevver News. I’ll see you next time.
