After taking a little break from music, both Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez came back onto the scene at the same time with some hot new jams.
But between Miley and Selena, who had the better comeback single? Miley or Selena? MILEY OR SELENA?!
It’s SO hard to choose between two of the biggest pop princesses in the game, but a decision has to be made. Miley and Selena released their own respective tracks into the world in May and while ‘Malibu’ and ‘Bad Liar’ are both incredible in their own right, which former Disney star had the better comeback single?
Both of them are kind of similar in terms of chill-ness, but let’s compare the two, shall we?
First off we have Miley with her comeback jam, ‘Malibu.’
‘Malibu’ starts off with a slow beat before going into a more upbeat tempo for the rest of the song. It’s clear that Miley’s sound has changed from her Bangerz, Dead Petz, and Can’t Be Tame eras and these days, we’re getting a calmer, chill and head-over-heels in love Miley.
Needless to say, the simplistic melody of ‘Malibu’ is definitely here to stay and there’s no doubt that this song is going to be turned into a summer jam. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally here for it.
Now for Selena’s ‘Bad Liar.’
‘Bad Liar’ is a pretty bass heavy track paired with Selena’s sultry voice. Although the message behind this song is completely opposite from Miley’s lovey dovey ‘Malibu,’ it’s a pretty catchy banger. That probably has to do with a lot of the repetitiveness of the chorus – but that isn’t a bad thing at all!
Both of these artists have been out of the spotlight – musically – for roughly two years. While Selena did release a couple of songs between ‘Revival’s release and now with Cashmere Cat and Kygo, ‘Bad Liar’ is technically her first song without anyone else on the bill.
But let’s be real here, ‘Bad Liar’ and ‘Malibu’ both have potential to be the summer song of 2017 AND they’re both pretty good comeback jams.
What do you guys think? Did Miley have the better comeback or was Selena’s the best one between the two? Sound off in the comment section below and don’t forget to subscribe to Clevver News. Thanks for hanging out with me, I’m your host Jackie Iadonisi and I’ll see ya next time!
