Kesha triumphantly returns with her emotional new single “Praying”!
Okay, we gotta talk about these vocals. And this video.
We just listened to Kesha’s first solo single in 4 years and we’re obsessed. Today Kesha returned with her song “Praying”- a brave piano ballad about feeling empathy for someone even though they hurt you. In an essay for Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter Kesha explained the comeback song is also about learning to be proud of the person you are during low moments when you feel alone. And it’s pretty clear who the song was inspired by- a certain music producer who we’ll leave out of the conversation for now.
In addition to dropping the song today, Kesha released the official music video. Watch Kesha’s colorful rebirth in video form and don’t forget to appreciate her stunning raw vocals.
When you get a chance- Kesha’s “Praying” video deserves a full watch end to end. Take note folks because THIS is how you do a music video. The video starts in black and white introducing her vulnerable storyline and continues in color to display Kesha’s version of church and finding her inner strength.
Dare we say this is the PERFECT comeback song, and video? Although the song is totally different from her previous released songs and doesn’t sound like the Kesha we know- we feel a major success on our hands.
Even better, Kesha announced her full album “Rainbows” is finally coming our way August 11th. The album features Eagles of Death Metal and none other than Dolly Parton. We are SO ready for the new era of Kesha.
Tell us if you’re obsessing over this new song as much as we are- leave a comment down in that handy comment section! Then check out details about Adele being forced to cancel the rest of her tour! As always I’m your host Ava Gordy, and I’ll see you next time back here on Clevver.
