First she was, then she wasn’t, but last minute she was granted the right to sing- not speak- at the Billboard music awards. But we heard her straight into our soul!
And after not knowing if she was in fact going to be able to legally perform at the awards show, Kesha, took the stage and set it on fire. She sang an emotional rendition of Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe” accompanied solely by a pianist and a violinist, and Kesha made the hairs stand up on the arms of everyone in that audience and everyone glued to their TVs watching.
Thank you, Kesha. That was for real- magic. Also Kesha wore an ivory pant suit covered in colorful patches. Rainbows. Blue roses. Broken hearts. Trees. It seemed like even her outfit was a metaphor for what she’s going through right now. Anyway, she was not the only woman who raised the bar that night. It was a powerful night for music and for women! I mean, Britney’s opening performance gave every 90s kid all the feels.
