The stars have aligned and the Hollywood stars have officially spoken, rallied AND protested all of the above on behalf of Kesha’s BBMA performance, and our prayers have officially been answered.
The Billboard Music Awards have just added one more artist to their long list of performers on Sunday, and we can all rejoice because KESHA IS BACK ma friends.
After much consideration, back-and-forth exchanges AND finally a very-well deserved seal of approval, Kesha’s record label, Kemosabe Records, has agreed to allow her to perform onstage after previously rescinding their approval to allow Kesha to perform during the 2016 Billboard Music Awards this Sunday.
In an official statement given by Dr. Luke’s record label, Kemosabe has revealed QUOTE, “Kesha's performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored."
A spokesperson for Dick Clark productions has also revealed to E! News in a statement saying QUOTE, “We are pleased that Kesha and Kemosabe Records have reached an agreement and very much look forward to having Kesha perform on the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday night on ABC."
Along with Lady Gaga and Kesha’s mom showing their support on Twitter this past week, Kesha also took a stand and performed the Bob Dylan song she’s set to perform at the BBMAs alongside Ben Folds Wednesday night at the Or-phe-um Theater in LA, and let’s just say this girl’s got some serious pipes!
And if that performance is anything like her BBMA set will be, I can already tell we’re in for quite the stunning tribute to Dylan, one of Kesha’s favorite artists, and I know Sunday can’t come soon enough, but to hold you over, let’s get a conversation going in the comment section below, THEN, you can click right over here to check out a brand new episode of Beauty Trippin’ that involved modeling school, high heels and prune faces. Thanks for checking in with me here on Clevver’s Trophy Life, I’m Ryland Adams, BYEEEE.
