Last night’s The Voice finale featured a touching dedication.
Barely 24 hours after the terror attack at Ariana Grande’s concert in the UK, NBC’s The Voice crowned a season 12 winner. And with it came performances from Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Chris Stapleton, and former coach Miley Cyrus. Miley was on hand to perform her new single “Malibu”, and took a moment to dedicate the performance to those involved in the Manchester Arena bombing- take a look.
Miley performed the already-heartfelt-song with even more emotion last night. And as you saw, the singer took the stage surrounded by flowers, greenery, and bubbles. A subtle nod to the video’s beachy carefree music video.
Earlier in the day Miley posted a sweet message to Ariana Grande on Instagram, including a photo of the two hugging in onesies. Miley wrote, “wishing I could give my friend @arianagrande a great big hug right now... love love love you .... so sorry you had to be apart of such a tragic event! my most sincere condolences to anyone and everyone affected by this horrific attack! all I can do is send as much HOPE & PEACE your way! This MUST end! No more war .... no more innocent lives taken .... L-O-V-E”.
Our hearts are heavy today and we’d like to mimic Miley’s sentiments and send our love and thoughts to those involved in the bombing. Now, we invite you to invite you to comment with your thoughts on Miley’s touching tribute, down below. Thanks so much for tuning in to Clevver, I’m Drew Dorsey.
