You’re back at Trophy Life, where Clevver gives you all of the deets you need to know about your favorite award shows. Right now, we’re proud to talk about Miley’s acceptance speech for winning the best music video… she took the opportunity to send her friend Jessie up on stage to bring awareness to the fact that there are 1.6-million runaways and homeless youth in the United States, as he states, also saying that he is one of those people. He told the audience a few things that he’s been through, and while he touched our hearts, you could also see that Miley was emotionally moved by his words and his story as well, she too was tearing up as Jessie read from his notes. He urged music industry people to check out Miley’s Facebook page to help, as Jimmy Fallon was thoughtful to hold the mic during the acceptance speech. Good for Miley to use her huge platform at the VMAs to spread the love on a cause that means something to her and to many people in the world. As a reminder, MC took home the moon man for Video of the Year, thanks to her uber popular “Wrecking Ball” music video – beating out Beyonce’s Drunk in Love featuring Jay Z, Pharrel’s Happy, Sia’s Chandelier and Iggy Azalea on Fancy featuring Charli XCX. Again, big congrats and high five to Miley. Let us know your thoughts about this huge win for the musician as well as her victory speech by Jessie.
