Selena Gomez was presented with the Billboard ‘Woman of the Year’ award earlier this week by her BFF, Francia Raisa, who also happened to selflessly donate her kidney to Sel earlier this year.
While presenting the award to Selena, Francia said, QUOTE, “When I found out I was a match for Selena, I didn’t think twice about it. I was honored and if I was in the same situation she wouldn’t have thought twice about doing it for me. That’s just who she is.”
Despite Selena’s health struggles this year, which were a result of her ongoing battle with Lupus, she has somehow managed to stay on top of her career and release some KILLER collaborations with some talented and notable artists. But when she hit the stage to accept the award, Francia was the first person on her mind, even saying that when it comes down to the two of them, Francia is the one who truly deserves to be named ‘Woman of the Year.’
If you’re crying right now, don’t worry… so was everyone else in the audience. Selena went on to tearfully thank those who stood by her during the trials and tribulations 2017 has brought her. She said, QUOTE, “I would like to thank my amazing team and my family because they stuck with me through some really hard times. I got to do a lot this year, even though I had a couple of other things to do,” clearly hinting at her life-threatening kidney transplant.
BUT, if you’re a fan of Selena, you know that a few health troubles aren’t enough to get her down, and we know we’re a little bit ahead of ourselves, but did we hear her mention she’ll be releasing some kick-ass music sometime next year?
An epic album?! We don’t know about you guys, but we can’t wait!
