Taylor Swift Shuts Haters Down - Billboard Woman of the Year 2014

It’s been a busy week for Taylor Swift – not only did she perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in London, but she was also named Billboard’s WOMAN OF THE YEAR and managed to silence some haters along the way.
Yes, big BIG congrats to Taylor who scored yet another amazing accolade - very much deserved if we do say so ourselves. In addition to covering the mag, she also sat down with them for an interview and talked about a number of different topics.
First, as you know T-Swift is VERY vocal about her love for the Big Apple. Heck she even wrote a love song about the city called “Welcome to New York,” which some people have criticized. However, Taylor just does NOT have time for haters, and told the mag this:
“I went to a Knicks game a few weeks ago, and people were like, ‘Oh, it’s your first Knicks game!’ I actually have a photo of my first Knicks game. I was 12 years old and I was in a halftime talent competition, but I didn’t win because the kid who won sang ‘New York, New York,’ and I was like, ‘Here’s a song I wrote about a boy in my class…’”
Way to throw that shade girl. We love it. Also, while many New Yorkers are known for being somewhat jaded, Taylor has no time for that nonsense, and is explain the optimistic sound behind the song:
“When you write a song, you’re writing about a momentary emotion. If you can capture that and turn it into three-and-half minutes that feel like that emotion, that’s all you’re trying to do as a songwriter. To take a song and try to apply it to every situation everyone is going through — economically, politically, in an entire metropolitan area — is asking a little much of a piece of a music.”
Taylor continued:
“I’m as optimistic and enthusiastic about New York as I am about the state of the music industry, and a lot of people aren’t optimistic about those two things.”
Beautifully worded, Taylor. But really, would you expect anything less from this girl?
We mentioned that Taylor had a busy week, and another event on her agenda was seeing The 1975 in concert yet again. Yes, Taylor and her bestie Karlie Kloss were seen at one of their shows in NYC, which is kind of just adding fuel to the fire in terms of the fact she MIGHT be dating their lead singer Matt Healy. That, or she’s just a really hardcore fan. If you had as many connections as Taylor Swift and could attend multiple shows of your favorite artists - you’d do the exact same thing!
