The 2015 Billboard Music Awards are officially a wrap – The MGM Grand in Las Vegas was full of talented superstars, but some walked away winners and some losers. Welcome back to Clevver’s Trophy Life where we keep you updates on the best moments all award show season.
It went down tonight at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. So, who were some of the artists who were victorious at the Billboard Music Awards?
America’s sweeatheart Ms. Taylor Swift led the Awards with 14 nominations and 8 Wins. She took home top female artist, Top Digital Songs Artist Top Album Top Streaming (Video) and BILLBOARD CHART ACHIEVEMENT AWARD which meant a lot to her because the fans voted.

24 year old taylor also won Billboard’s Top Artist at the very end of the show dedicating the award to her brother, Austin Swift, as well as all of the other 2015 graduates. In true T.Swfit style she was humble and very grateful and sweet as sugar. And let’s not forget to mention that she had some stiff competition in those categories, up against artists like One Direction, Meghan Trainor, Maroon 5, Sam Smith, and her bff Ed Sheeran.
Another female rocking it this year is Iggy Azaela who took home Top Streaming artist and top rap artist, and top rap songfor her hit fancy. Side note- 3 of the 5 rap songs nominated were by woman- that’s pretty cool.
But we can’t forget about the men. Top Male artist went to soulful Sam Smith who gave his whole speech using cue cards due to vocal hemorrage he suffered last month. He thanked Billbaord for the honor and went on to say well, cue card QUOTE. Can’t wait to get this surgery out of the way so I can sing my ass off for you again…Good night and turn up!” I always thought it was his voice that made our hearts melt but it turns out he’s even charming when he doesn’t speak.
Top Duo/Group went to everyone’s favorite boys, One Direction And they gave Zayn a pretty special shoutout
Top Social Artist went to none other than Justin Bieber. And while Florida Georgia Line had the most nominations out of the country nominees, singer Jason Aldean swept the country categories winning Top Country Song, and Top Country Album. Top Radio Songs artists went to John Legend., TOP DANCE/ELECTRONIC ARTIST went to Taylor’s new man, Calvin Harris, top rock artist went to Hozier, and Pharrell didn’t leave empty handed, taking home awards for TOP R&B ARTIST and top R&B Album.
TOP RAP ALBUM went to J. Cole…if you haven’t lisetend tot hat album you need to…well deserved. And Ms. All about that bass Meghan trainor took home 2 awards, including top hot 100 artist!
