Records were broken tonight at the BBMA’s and if you missed it, here’s your winner’s recap
Typically, you don’t tune into the Billboard Music Awards for the actual award ceremony, you tune in for the performances BUT there were a few notable wins tonight and we KNOW you want to know.
Lets talk about Beyonce, Queen B was leading the female artist categories winning 5 awards before the show even started – including a trophy for Top Female Artist and Top R&B Artist.
Drake also won big at tonight’s show, he actually broke Adele’s record for the most awards won at a BBMA’s (by the way he was nominated in 22 categories) and took home 13 awards in total including Top Male Artist, the top 200 Billboard Album…and the one that put him over the record breaking point? The BBMA for Top Artist
The Chainsmokers, led with the most nominations at show - 23 in total (out of those they won three…including a win for Top Dance/Electronic Artist) but they kicked off the show Accepting the award for Top Collaboration for their song "Closer" with Halsey.
Fun fact: They mentioned that Closer was originally just written for their friends in the back of a tour bus!
Twenty One Pilots took home four trophies - including one for Top Duo/Group, Zayn won for Top New Artist, K-Pop cuties BTS won for Top Social Artist, Justin Timberlake won for Top Radio song for Can’t Stop The Feeling, and Blake Shelton won for Top Country Artist.
