Fifth Harmony Talks About Life After Camila Cabello & Taking Control Of Their Music With Billboard

The girls of fifth harmony are covering Billboard talking moving on, taking control and even admitted they’re fans have become their fifth member.
The foursome is going strong and we’ve got all the juicy details.
first up, and honestly on what everyone is asking about is life after Camilla Cabello. Lauren was the first to admit she was scared about 5H’s future without Cabello. She said “We’d put blood, sweat and tears -- and birthdays and funerals we missed -- into this thing,” she says. “It’s our livelihoods and our families.’ This is the train, and now you’re like, ‘Is the conductor going to come through with the coals, or are we left here to die?’ ”months later the girls told Billboard QUOTE: "Let's just say we’re in a better place now — there are no secrets in this circle," while Normani added QUOTE: "I get to sleep at night knowing we did everything in our power as friends, bandmates and human beings."
Lauren added her two cents saying she nearly threw up from anxiety before their first performance as a foursome, at the People’s Choice Awards in January. But today, the members are quick to high-five each other as they talk about their ongoing 7/27 Tour.
They also chatted about their most recent single titled ‘down’ reveling what it means to them as they said “We dedicate it to each other, we’ve been together five years, so that message is powerful to us. We’ve been there for each other through ups and downs.”
A lot of the interview was spent talking about their new music and how the girls have taken the front seat in creating it. All the producers they have worked with have agreed that they are hungry and want to make something great. It’s also worth a mention that the girls spent a lot of time actually writing versus on each single, so it’s safe to say the new music will be very personal to them.
Lauren also opened up about her sexuality. She addressed the coming out photos she released back in march and when asked if she would be addressing that in Fifth Harmony’s music she said she doesn’t know saying QUOTE: “because it has to do with me personally. It doesn’t speak for everyone in the group, which is its own entity as an artist. That’s the whole reason for doing your own thing.” Which is probably why she made an appearance on Halsey’s track titled strangers which was all about that sexuality.
Lauren added QUOTE: “Last year, we all learned a lesson about mental health and making sure you step away from something. It just makes this stronger,” while Normani said: “Fifth Harmony is the home base, where we always come back.”
I love that they can pressure side projects they are passionate about while maintaining a strong and powerful girl group!
