Perak Health Committee said on Friday that they will wait for forensic's report before deciding to repair or to renovate the burnt ward in Hospital Bahagia, Tambun, Ipoh. Its chairman Datuk Mah Hang Soon said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and the 21 inmates from the affected ward had also been transferred to a safe place.The fire broke out on Thursday lunch hour at the hospital's store adjacent to the ward before spreading to the ceiling and roof.
