Sorry Adele and JLo, I kinda think Gwen has both of you beat for the best and most epic carpool karaoke ride EVER.
Last night on The Late Late Show, James finally revealed his latest installment of Carpool Karaoke featuring Gwen Stefani and it was pretty epic. It started off with James and Gwen jamming a few of her hits like ‘Don’t Speak,’ ‘Rich Girl,’ and ‘Used To Love You,’ but the best part of it all was when Gwen taught James the lyrics to the hardest part of ‘Sweet Escape.’ You know which one I’m talking about. Just watch.
He was kinda struggling a little bit during their practice, but when push came to shove, James executed the rap PERFECTLY.
At one point in between all the singalongs, James complimented Gwen on her flawless looks and even revealed that his wife was dying to know what Gwen does to look so young. So, here’s what the singer had to say.
Sounds like falling in love with a hunky country singer and being happy is the key to looking ageless! Everything after that went perfectly until James ran into a little bit of a jam. Apparently the rules of the carpool lane changed and instead of two people, the late night host found out he needed at least FOUR people in the car in order to stay in the lane. So, James did what any other person would do, call up George Clooney and Julia Roberts to hop in the car and help him get to work on time.
No big deal, right? When George and Julia joined the car ride, the party started back up and all four of them sang along to ‘Hollaback Girl.’
You guys, George Clooney singing this song is everything we’ve ever wanted in life. Once the song ended, they all had a very serious conversation about what a ‘Hollaback Girl’ is. George actually had a pretty good definition for the term:
While George’s interpretation of the word was pretty close, Gwen kept quiet on how she defined the word and even admitted that she would never reveal the real inspiration behind that song. I guess we will never know what a hollaback girl really is.
And like all good things, the car ride had to eventually come to an end, but not before everyone busted out into an amazing rendition of ‘We Are the Champions.’
Not a bad way to end a star-studded car ride to work, right? Were any of you surprised to see George and Julia join in on all the fun? Or did you totally know it was them when you saw their blurred faces on a previously aired teaser? Let me know in the comment section below.
