Almost two million people tune into The Late Late Show with James Corden every night. James has been the host of the show since 2015 and has quickly become a fan-favorite. His carpool karaoke videos rack up MILLIONS of views and his hilarious Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts has celebrities literally throwing up, we’re looking at you Charlie Puth.
While everyone was getting ready for another night of hilarity with scheduled guests Joel Edgerto, Jane Krakowski, Owen Wilson and Seal, another surprise was in the works. Two and a half hours before the show was set to film, James Corden and his wife, Jules, welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world, but James knew the show must go on and he called for back up from none other than Harry Styles.
Harry was an obvious choice because not only are he and James actual best friends, but he spent a whole week on the show in honor of his album’s release. With such a short notice, Harry totally killed it as the night’s host.
Harry got to show off his comedy chops during the monologue and looked thrilled when a joke he wrote got some serious laughter.
To make the night even better, two of our favorite things got together. Dogs wearing sunglasses and Harry Styles. Honestly, what could be better than that?
By the end of the night, we forgot that Harry wasn’t the usual host of the show! Who knows, maybe there’s a late night hosting career in his future!
