Iggy Azaela has officially returned to social media, firing back at the media for twisting her words about her song Pretty Girls with Britney Spears
The summer track that featured Britney and Iggy and had the potential to be the song of the summer, but when it couldn't land any higher than the 29th spot on the Billboard Hot 100, some fans were tweeting to Iggy to see why SHE thought the song didn't perform better. In a series of tweets, Iggy hinted that it was a lack of promo and tv performances that caused the track to flop, insinuating that it was Britney and her team who dropped the ball on all of that, and she said her hands were tied because "Im just featured."
Yesterday, Brit Brit herself tweeted out a cryptic tweet saying "So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to...#YouWantAPieceOfMe" leading people to believe that she was firing back at Iggy's negative comments, since Iggy was rumored to have canceled her tour recently because of poor ticket sales.
Well, thanks to Iggy, the saga continued on twitter last night in a new series of rants and they ain't pretty. Iggy blamed the media for "trying to create a beef" between her and Britney, and claimed that she and Britney are NOT throwing shade, that they are still friends and that her previous comments were not at all negative and that "Does wishing WE had promoted a single more make me the bad guy?" Iggy went on to say that she was offended that the media "wants women in music to ...mud wrestle each other" and that women should be able to have a "subjection opinion without it being anymore than that." She said i feel like the press just wants to see girls be overtly sexual to one another, and have no real opinion other than "i love it! ^.^" - Im over it. Women in music are not the same as a teen drama. Stop making us all out to be, we are business women & artists. Not mean girls.
So, what do you all think about Iggy's recent twitter rant? Was this a fake feud that the media caused? Or do you think that Iggy was really not happy with Britney? Lets try and play nice in the comments and to see if Iggy made it on to our top 4 Best Twerkers list on our new show Debatable, click in this video box right here. Until next time, Im Erin Robinson.
