In a tweet that many are speculating is a dig back at Iggy, Britney celebrates the fact that she at least HAS shows to go back to.
So in case you missed it, During a Twitter Q&A Sunday night, a fan asked Iggy why the single “Pretty Girls” had QUOTE “flopped a little bit,” and Azalea said QUOTE “it’s difficult to send a song up the charts without addition promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately I’m just featured…” So many interpreted that as Iggy insinuating that it is partly Britney’s fault that the song flopped.
This is why people are assuming that Britney’s recent tweet is a blatant fire back at Iggy. Britney tweeted – “Can’t wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe”
Now let’s break this down. Iggy recently cancelled her shows which many believe was because of poor ticket sales, so Britney could be throwing this in Iggy’s face by gloating about the fact that she has shows to go back to. Another part of the tweet that may be a sign of shade is the hashtag, “You Want a Piece of Me.” Now remember that this is a line from a Britney song so she could just be saying this to get people hyped for the show, orrrr she could be telling Iggy to watch it. And she did put an ellipses after the tweet which everyone knows is a clear sign of possible shade.
I’d like to believe that the tweet has nothing to do with Iggy and that Britney is just genuinely excited to get back to work, but I’ll let you guys be the judge.
Now before you make a decision, note that after all of the commotion over her comments yesterday, Iggy tweeted – “Genuine friends have genuine opinions. Its possible & healthy to have a differing thought without it being bitchy or shade.”
Touche, now do with that what you will.
So do you guys think Britney’s tweet is a dig back at Iggy for calling her out?
