Another day, another Iggy beatdown. Is it just us or does it seem like Iggy takes to Twitter every week to defend herself from someones criticism. This time she has a very specific message for her fans. Find out what that is right now on Clevver News.
Musical Artists Jill Scott and Rapper Eve visited Sirius XM’s “Sway in the Morning” and got to talking about Iggy. Interestingly, both women gave her credit. Eve admitted that she wasn’t a fan but said QUOTE “yeah she’s white but they grew up with our [stuff] sh-t… [hip-hop is] from us and it’s our thing but she’s representing a group of girls right now.”
But Eve isn’t buying what Iggy is selling. Take a look.
And that’s what set Iggy off. Well, that, and this:
Upon hearing that, Iggy felt that the women were perpetuating stereotypes. The Grammy nominated artist said via Twitter, “There's a difference between being yourself and being your stereotype. When people I've never met say I should act more like "myself"…She went on to say "I feel like they're really saying 'act more like how I stereotype you to be, so I can feel comfortable”.
It seems that the women were by calling Iggy unoriginal and unauthentic, when really Iggy feel as if she is doing and acting just the opposite.
What do you think? Is Iggy authentically herself or is she acting out a persona for the public? Let us know in the comment section below and don’t forget to subscribe.
