Chasing a Plate is in Tokyo, Japan! Today we start the day with a Japan convenience store breakfast of onigiri. 7-elevens and Family Marts are popular Japanese convenience stores and they are everywhere. They have great food options and are perfect for finding cheap food in Japan. We purchase a couple of onigiri each for around $1USD. We eat onigiri filled with shrimp and mayonaise, a miso flavoured onigiri and a sushi roll filled with chicken karaage or fried chicken. They are delicious, filling and cheap.

We then catch the Tokyo metro/subway to Harajuku. Tokyo subway have an amazing app- you simply type in your origin station, your destination and it tells you which lines to catch, the time it takes and the cost. Place it works offline too!

We get to Harajuku and walk the main strip as well as veering off into the lanes. It's a neat area to wander around.

After exploring Harajuku we head to a budget sushi restaurant called Katsu Midori. It's actually a sushi train restaurant and we sample loads of different types of sushi including salmon, uni (sea urchin), whitebait and more!
