They’ve conquered the history of rap together, they’ve surpassed the best friends challenge, so let’s take it back to 1996, where it all began: Overnight camp.
The story of Justin and Jimmy started out just as any other typical best friend relationship did, back in 1996 at Camp Winnipesaukee. While Justin made an appearance on The Tonight show last night, he and Jimmy acted out a hilarious sketch where the two spent the night together at camp, chatted about Halloween costumes and got busted by their counselor for belting out this little number…
Fast forward to the present when the curls became straight and the braces were phased out, who’da thought from those camp glory days that Justin would become a Grammy-winning recording artist and Jimmy would run his own Emmy-winning late night talk show? The two remained best friends and even proved their friendship while taking the best friends challenge on The Tonight Show, and spoiler alert: They CRUSHED it. The first question asked by Jimmy was about their preferred mode of transportation when they’re not hanging out on the show.
Jimmy further explained the story behind the tandem bicycle when he said that his wife had gifted him with it, but instead of the Fallons using it, Jimmy and Justin found much better use out of it. #GOALS. Justin then asked what his favorite TV show growing up was, and although Jimmy’s first guess was a great one, Gilmore Girls, Justin revealed that his was, in fact, Cheers, but of course Gilmore Girls was a close second.
And brace yourselves for this final question, which proves not just how close these two are, but what a ridiculously good time they have together. Jimmy asked Justin what song the two love to sing together. Any guesses?
There are just no words, except: petition to schedule a hang-out with these two, like STAT. But it wasn’t all fun and games last night, as Jimmy brought up the elephant in the room regarding Justin and his whole voting booth selfie that got him in a bit of trouble.
Justin first joked about the incident, saying he voted without anyone knowing and that he got in and out of the booth super quiet without anyone even knowing… ok, so millions of people knew all thanks to Justin’s selfie he posted, so if there’s one piece of advice Justin would like to give besides getting out and voting, you can probably guess what he’s about to preach:
