In honor of Vanessa Hudgens joining the NBC family as part its new series ‘Powerless’, she and Jimmy Fallon sang an ode to one of the network’s most remembered sitcoms… any guesses?
In good times and in bad times, and when the rain starts to fall, it’s always nice to know that Vanessa Hudgens will be there for you…
So no one told you life was gonna be this way, but thanks to an impromptu performance on Jimmy Fallon, Vanessa Hudgens has reminded us that we’ve always got a friend to count on. While dishing all about her new NBC series ‘Powerless’ on Fallon, the two began to also discuss many other iconic shows that stemmed from the network, like ‘Cheers,’ ‘Seinfeld,’ and the one that got away from us far too soon…
The two threw it back to the good ol’ days, singing the Friends’ theme song “I’ll Be There For You” originally performed by The Rembrandts, but thanks Friends’ 10-series long run and its syndication on multiple networks, along with its streaming deal on Netflix, it hasn’t strayed too far from our hearts.
As for Vanessa, starring in a sitcom has always been a dream of hers, noting ‘The Office’ and ‘Parks and Rec’ as just two of her faves, as are ours, but we may soon be tacking on ‘Powerless’ to that list. Don’t believe us? See for yourselves…
Vanessa further explained the premise of the comedy, set in the DC Comics world, saying QUOTE, “It's not about the superheroes. A lot of the shows we see are always about the superheroes, but it's like, when you see an epic battle going on and they're crashing into buildings, what happens to the people who are trying to walk to their job? So, we're those people.”
‘Powerless’ is set to premiere this Thursday at 8:30 p.m., so set your DVRs because what’s one more TV show to add to your list, right? But right now, I want to hear all your thoughts on Vanessa and Jimmy’s epic ode to Friends’, so hit us up right down here in the comments and as always, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel.
