Kanye West daringly compares his wife Kim Kardashian West to OJ Simpson.
Given the Kardashian’s heavy involvement in the famed OJ Simpson Trial, this Kanye lyric probably isn’t going to sit well with the fam.
Controversial rapper Kanye West has teamed up with SchoolBoy Q for a surprise new track called “THat Part”. Not surprisingly, the part of the song that has everyone talking is where Yeezy calls his wife Kim Kardashian West “the female OJ”. As in OJ Simpson, the charming retired football hero that supposedly murdered his wife and her lover in 1994. Here’s the proof.
So the comparison is used to display how angry his wife would be if she found out he had just come home from a strip club. But does the comparison go too far? Kris Jenner, Kim’s Mom, was friends with the deceased Nicole Brown Simpson, and Kim’s Dad Robert Kardashian sat on the legal team in OJ’s defense. Kim grew up with OJ and called him “Uncle” though not blood related. It’s already an awkward topic for the family and this new lyric likely adds to the tension. Let’s be clear- we don’t think Kanye actually thinks Kim would murder him, but we’re not sure it’s ok to joke about that just yet. All of this is interesting timing as FX’s “People V. O.J. Simpson” TV series just wrapped, bringing new light on the famous murder trial where OJ was found not guilty. Other notable parts in Kanye’s new hip hop track include a Chipotle mention, “Beggars can’t be choosers bitches ain’t Chipotle,” and a Kobe Bryant shout out, “Walking living legend, feel like Kobe.” It’s your turn now!
