Kardashians Accused Of "Deceptive Marketing" - Kylie To Release Kyliner

Ever since they came on the scene, the Kardashians have been kollecting all kinds of kash for their endorsements, but now they’re being accused of GASP, deceptive marketing?!
If you’ve spent any amount of time on any of the Kardashian or Jenner’s social media pages, you’ll know that a majority of their posts consist of selfies, lavish items or trips, and the occasional sponsored post by FitTea or hair vitamins, etc. etc. Well, after reading Truth in Advertising Inc.’s legal letter that they sent to Kris Jenner and her lawyers last week…the Kardashian-Jenner’s endorsement days may be numbered, if they don’t adhere to the rules, of course.
After an extensive review of Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, and Kendall’s Instagram accounts, the watchdog group is asking the Kardashian-Jenners to change their ways by Wednesday, August 24th, or they’ll contact the Federal Trade Commission and notify them of the Kardashian-Jenner’s ‘deceptive marketing’ ways.
Truth in Advertising’s executive director Bonnie Patten chimed in on the issue “When it comes to sponsored social media posts, the law is clear -- unless it’s self-evident that an Instagram post is an advertisement, a clear and prominent disclosure is required so that consumers understand that what they are viewing is an ad. The Kardashian/Jenner family and companies that have a commercial relationship with them have ignored this law for far too long, and it’s time that they were held accountable.”
The organization also published in detail how many times each Kardashian or Jenner ignored this rule. Kylie was the most problematic with 57 posts while Kim came in second with 22. But, it seems like the girls are starting to fix the way they share their sponsored posts. Just last night, Kim shared a Boomerang of herself endorsing Sugar Bear Hair and hashtagged the word ‘ad’ in her caption.
While Kim is doing her best to cover her ass in terms of her endorsements, Kylie is flaunting her upcoming Kyliner Kit release on Instagram. The youngest Jenner revealed that she’s launching a black and brown Kyliner Kit that includes an eyeliner, gel pot, and brush, on her website TODAY at 3PM.
On top of Kylie’s new releases, Kim also announced that her baby sister’s budding cosmetics company is sponsoring her makeup Master Class in Dubai and even revealed that everyone in attendance will be getting an Kylie Lip Kit on top of the $1,000 in products handpicked by Kim’s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. Well, if these girls lose out on some of their sponsorships, at least they have other things to fall back on, right?
