Katy Perry Stuns & Overcomes In New "Rise" Music Video

First Katy hit us with the single, then the teaser, and finally we got to see the masterpiece in its entirety last night during NBC’s Rio Olympics Preview Special and holy powerful, there is no doubt that “Rise” is the perfect song for the Olympics soundtrack this year. Take a look:
In the video we see Katy battle it out with a parachute as she struggles to get off the ground in a number of dangerous scenarios. First we see her battling the wind in what appears to be an airplane hangar before she is slammed to the ground, cutting herface. Then we see her dragging the heavy parachute through the desert, praying for wind before she nearly passes out and just when you think it can’t get any worse, we see her hanging from a cliff before she gets trapped underwater and nearly drowns. But in true KP fashion, she prevails in the end and rises into the sky proving that if you work hard, have faith in yourself, and never give up, you too will rise. Katy tweeted about the video upon its release last night saying QUOTE – “Through the blood, sweat (lots of it), and tears, we keep rising. Finally, my new video for #RISE.” Many were waiting for her to address the Orlando Bloom naked photos of the two of them at the beach, but Katy kept her lips sealed and focused on the music.
