You guys, Katy Perry’s latest single Rise gives me all the chills and is definitely Olympic Gold medal status!
Rise debuted earlier this month and it’s her first single in two years, but it was so worth the wait. The song is the new power anthem about standing united against adversity and will also be used this summer in the 2016 Rio Olympics. A trailer for the music video was released today. Take a look.
The teaser was directed by Paul Gore and everything from the landscape image of her dragging a parachute across the sand to being tangled up in the parachute after her landing and struggling to come up for air is so powerful and beautiful. But even through all the struggle she surely does rise.
When Rise was first released earlier in the month Katy said quote, “This is a song that’s been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface. I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite.”
With the Olympics just around the corner and all that is going on in the world I’m so glad Katy gave us all this song to feel more connected and to show us that no matter how hard the struggle is you will rise. I know I’m getting deep here guys but Katy believes in you, I believe in you, you can do anything! Gosh if just the trailers got me feeling this sappy I can’t imagine what the video will do to me! No word on when the full video will be released but word on the street is “soon.”
