Following Saturday morning's landslide in Penang that killed 11 people, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has described the event as a "workplace incident".
However, the Consumers Association of Penang, Sahabat Alam Malaysia and the Tanjung Bungah Residents Association, in a joint statement, claimed the incident was not merely a construction site accident, but was caused by hillside development carried out without proper approval, and thus, a violation of law.
